Istanbul Modern, Pera Museum, SantralIstanbul & Koç Museum (with lunch at Otto SantralIstanbul)

09:00, departure by coach from Ceylan INTERCONTINENTAL Istanbul, visiting “Istanbul Modern” located in an old warehouse at the passenger port. Then drive to “Pera” Museum named after its location, offering a permanent exhibition by early Turkish painters as well as hosting Marc Chagall's "Life and Love" exhibition until 24th of January 2010. Then drive on to “SantralIstanbul”, a charming example of an industrial edifice turned into a Museum at the campus of Istanbul Bilgi University. Enjoy lunch at “Otto” Restaurant, famous for pizza and Turkish Pitas, located at the campus. Last visit of the day will be to the “Koç Industrial Museum” situated at the old shipyards, en route to the hotel. housing a rich collection industrial products entitles Koc Museum as the first and the only example of its kind in Turkey. 16:30 Return to Hotel.

Historic Istanbul
Old Town and The Mosques, Topkapı Palace, Istanbul Archaeology Museum & Grand Bazaar (with lunch at Konyalı, Topkapı Palace)

09:00, departure by coach from Ceylan INTERCONTINENTAL Istanbul. Tour includes visits to The Roman Hippodrome, The Blue Mosque, famous for the Blue “Iznik” tiles decorating the interior part. Then walk on to the Hagia Sophia Church-Museum, one of the most remarkable cathedrals of the world, dating back to the 6th century A.D. Walk into Topkapı Palace, which was the royal seat of the Ottoman Sultans for more than 400 years. Lunch will be served at the historical “Konyalı” Restaurant, on Palace grounds with a splendid view of the Bosphorus and the Asian Side. Last visit will be to the Istanbul Archaeological Museum which houses the remnants from pre-historic times to Greek, Roman & Byzantine periods. Highlight is the sarcophagus of Alexander the Great and the Grand Bazaar, the world’s oldest and the largest indoor market.


Sunday, 24th January 2010

9am – 3pm

Bosphorus Cruise & Sabancı Museum
(with lunch at İskele Restaurant, Rumelihisarı)

09:00, departure by coach from Ceylan INTERCONTINENTAL Istanbul. Then board on a private boat for abaout 1.5 hours for the “Bosphorus Cruise”. While cruising along the strait, just relax and admire the shoreline of beautiful mosques, lavish palaces, decadent villas, Dolmabahçe and Beylerbeyi Palaces, Ottoman summer mansions and the baroque Ortaköy mosque together with the defensive “Rumeli Fortress” and “Bosphorus Bridge”, one of the world's largest suspension bridges. 11:00, disembark at “Yeniköy” and visit “Sabancı Museum”, located at so-called horsed pavilion belonging to Sabancı Family. Lunch at Iskele Restaurant which is one of the favorite fish restaurants of the city. 15:00 Return to Hotel.
